MacMannie Group Earns WHX Ambassador Nomination, Reinforcing Decade-Long Commitment to Healthcare Procurement in Nigeria

Firm's healthcare track record dates back to COVID-19 era, where it supported the establishment of one of Lagos' largest testing centres

MacMannie Consulting Group, the Lagos-based integrated services enterprise, has been selected as an Ambassador for the World Health Expo (WHX) Lagos 2026, a recognition the firm says is rooted in nearly a decade of consistent delivery in healthcare procurement across Nigeria.

The WHX Ambassador role is reserved for industry leaders, and MacMannie's nomination reflects the firm's growing influence in the healthcare supply chain space  a trajectory that began during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A Procurement Track Record Built Under Pressure

MacMannie's involvement in healthcare procurement dates back to the peak of the COVID-19 crisis in Nigeria. During a period when supply chains across Lagos were severely disrupted, the firm provided critical procurement and supply chain support to a partner organisation, enabling it to establish and operate one of the largest COVID-19 testing centres in Lagos with near-zero disruption to supply chain operations throughout the engagement.

That experience during COVID-19 was defining for us," said Emmanuel Adebayo, Founder and Managing Partner of MacMannie Group. "It proved that a well-structured procurement system does not just reduce cost, it keeps operations alive when everything else is under pressure. Healthcare procurement is not a place where failure is acceptable. People's lives depend on what arrives and when it arrives.

Since then, MacMannie has continued to support healthcare institutions across Nigeria through its procurement subsidiary, MacMannie Integrated Services, providing medical consumables, laboratory equipment, pharmaceuticals, diagnostic test kits, surgical instruments, and occupational health supplies  all sourced in compliance with NAFDAC and SON certification requirements.

From Quiet Procurment Delivery to Public Recognition

For the first eight years of its existence, MacMannie operated almost entirely through word of mouth and referrals. Emmanuel Adebayo founded the firm in 2016 and stepped into full public leadership in January 2026  a deliberate decision to increase the visibility of a company that had been delivering quietly across multiple sectors.

"We did not chase this nomination," Adebayo noted. "MacMannie has never pursued recognition. We have always focused on the work and trusted that consistent delivery would speak for itself. The WHX Ambassador selection is confirmation of that belief."

The World Health Expo Lagos 2026 will take place from June 2 to 4 at the Lagos Continental Hotel, bringing together healthcare leaders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders from across Africa and beyond.

A Broader Procurement Vision for Healthcare in Nigeria

Adebayo believes that the healthcare sector in Nigeria faces a procurement challenge that is largely invisible to the public.

Healthcare in Nigeria does not fail because of a lack of talent or dedication from the professionals delivering care. In many cases, it fails when the supply chain behind those professionals cannot keep up  when critical supplies arrive late, when medical equipment is sourced from unverified suppliers, or when procurement processes are reactive rather than planned.

MacMannie, he said, exists to close that gap  providing procurement infrastructure that healthcare institutions can depend on regardless of the external conditions.

"Whether it is a pandemic, a currency crisis, or simply the day-to-day pressure of running a healthcare facility in Nigeria, the supply chain has to hold. That is what MacMannie builds."
